Does anyone know why my fridge in my Swift Hi-Style remains on after the 'power' button above the van's door has been turned off? The van was new in February and after our first trip I did all the usual things to close it down before going home. A week later I went back to take it out again and the battery was completely dead. I assumed I hadn't done all the things I should have done but couldnt think what that might have been.
We took it to a site and once connected to the mains it ran fine and the meter showed 13 to 14 volts depending on what was being used. When we took it back to where we store it, I turned the power switch off again and then looked around to see if anything was on. To my surprise the fridge was still on, something that didnt happen with our previous Swift Charisma. I turned the frdige switch off and today, nearly 3 weeks later, I went back and this time the power all came on fine. However, the battery meter only showed 11 volts and from what I have read and understand, it should be higher than that - or would it drop to that level after 3 weeks not being used?
The battery is 110 amps and was new just over 3 years ago.
Anyone able to help please?
Steve
