Fridge Electrics

I have a double problem with my fridge. It does not work off 12v either towing or when on site. Also it does not work off 240v. I changed the 240 element a couple of years ago but it has stopped working again. I have read previously that to change this element once is rare but twice suggests something major.

The fridge not working on 12v towing is probably because the towbar electrics are not connected.

Get that checked out first.

On site the 12v will NOT work anyway, it will ONLY work when connected to the car with engine running (if the electrics are fitted).

As Ray has said, it is not unusual for the 230v element to fail, Dometic have had issues with one supplier and have recently changed due to the large number of failures over the last 12 months.

Thanks for the advice. Am using a new car with a new towbar this year so that should sort that bit. Looks like another new element to fit.
