Fridge problem?

Anyone give me any tips? I have an '05 swift with the Thetford N90EL L fridge fitted. Works fine on 12v and 240. Got it to light on gas and works ok, but I am getting fumes inside van. Checked vents all seem clear, inside of top vent now black with soot from the flu exhaust. Has anyone had same problem and know a solution before I pull the burner nozzel out to see if its partly blocked or something. P.s previous owner told me he had only used van twice since he had it due to ill health. I don't think the fridge has ever been used on gas before I've tried it.

Haven't got any of the warrenty info either, otherwise I would have been straight onto swift.

Kevin, if you have soot deposits then that is indicative of the wrong gas to air mix and should be serviced to remedy the problem.

With regards attempting to clear the jet, they are made with laser drilled industrial rubies and will not tolerate any interference, they will break!!

The only remedy is to replace with a new jet, which you have to treat very carefully!

It may be just a spider web around the burner, but my advice is get it properly serviced.
