Fridge switch position

Hi all

Quick question, when we are travelling to a site and we have the fridge in the battery position, do we have to have the caravan master switch, switched on?
 
It shouldn't matter - because the fridge takes 12v directly from your car alternator through the 13-pin or 12S plug rather than the leisure battery.

They should really use a car symbol, not a battery symbol, for accuracy
 
I usually remember to cool down the fridge on the 'mains' symbol at home, for the journey flick over to the ' battery' symbol, and back again once hooked up on site.
