We have a Coachman 460/2 2001 and the smaller window L/H side has come apart ,that is the flat piece has come away from the front moulded one .It seems that the window stays and the sealing rubbers have caused a strain making it come apart near the stay fixing bracket. I asked Forum and got some good advice about sealing it with clear mastic but today having tried to get the mastic into the narrow gap(( 3mm to nothing)and about 30cm long I could not get a fixing, the ideal way unless someone can tell me otherwise is to remove the window and do the job on the bench. This seems to me to be a something that needs to be discussed beforehand as to me the whole rail which all the windows hang from would have to come off and i do not fancy that,so has anybody had any experiance doing it ?.Again many thanks in advance for advice. Tht manufactures want £218.51 for new window.

Is there not an end stop that can be removed so the window slides out to side, and I've known some windows when lifted to near horizontal with the stays detached that can then be removed. Just a thought.

I think you may mean "Cyanoacrylate" as in Superglues.

Try - http://www.permabond.com/en/en-cyanoacrylate.htm to seek the type you need or do a web search.

Hello Chris, tried to lift window off as suggested and removing end stop does not help as the windows are in a recess so would not slide out,oh well back to the drawing board.

Morning all - I have the same problem as Robert and was interested to see reference to Superglue and their website. I have also found an Araldite product (2026) which sounds very suitable, available from RS Components. See --

Hi,have today been on the web regarding suitable adhesives for fixing delaminated acrylic windows and the reply was they did not have a suitable product to remedy the problem . I will not name the very well known name, which i should imagine we have used their products numerouse times with success.Do the caravan repair shops use something that the manufactures of adhesives are not aware of their products being used?.

Further to my comment about manufacture of suitable product , John is quite right in that Araldite 2026 would be the most suitable. Their tech man say's it would be advisable to buy the applicator gun with the adhesive to make it easier to apply, so am ordering the 50m tubes and gun today . Let you know how i get on .
