fuel economy

After reading the cc magazine this month some one wrote in that there buyiny a 2.5 sorrie xe with the 2 or 4 wheel drive switch over and the reply was that there would get better fuel economy on the 2 wheel drive but will have the option of the 4 wheel drive as and when required.

My question is to all sorrie xe owners is what fuel economy do you get in 2 wheel drive? and what fuel economy do you get in 4 wheel drive both solo and towing?

Thanx

Fuel economy in 2wd is around 28/30 solo, 23/25 towing. Only use 4wd to pull the van off a wet site or CL so cannot give a mpg figure for 4wd.

Hi,

I have an XS auto and you cannot put it in 4WD as it selects it itself when required. For low ratio 4wd there is an electric switch over which puts the car into all wheel drive 100% but ata low ratio. So in normal road use I get 30-32mpg annd towing 1400kg between 22-24mpg. I use fully synthetic oil and the car is not used for many short hops.
