Fuel queues

I heard at Grimbsy and Cleethorpes fuel stations chaos started as early as 6am this morning forecourts were already full of drivers at pumps. good job we are not going to today for our outing .

I suspect that some folks are panic buying and others are just filling up ahead of the pre-emptive price hike, although the crude oil currently being used to make petrol was presumably purchased some weeks ago.

It’s always the same as the supply system cannot cope if too many start filling up with more than normal. After about 10 days or so people realise that supplies are still available and calm down. The good news is that toilet rolls are still in abundance……. But don’t tell anyone.

That wont stop some of the fuel stations profiteering and hiking their prices now.

I filled up as soon as I heard that Trump had struck as, to me, it was blindingly obvious that the "choke point" for oil at the straights of Hormuz would get closed off by Iran.

Fuel prices near us have gone up 4p for branded Esso and Sainsbury’s. Wish the AA would not tell people not to panic but. But I guess the tabloids like panic queues, makes good headlines.

Count your blessings. Diesel has gone up 20 Eurocents a litre at the station near to where I live. Fortunately I had filled up last weekend, more out of necessity than foresight.

Thats 18p a gallon, talk about oportunism 🙄
It’s always the same. Quick increase and very slow decrease. No amount of CMA investigations have changed that. Look to the future they will be out of business when more EVs enter the market and most of their charging is at home or work 🙈

Normally it is 3 months, immediate price rise , 6 months to decrease.
