Gas bottle valves

As the old saying goes 'if you don't know, ask', so here goes...

I've got a leisure/propane gas bottle that I used for my old gas bbq and a Cadac Safari Chef bbq we use for the caravan. The clip on valve that I bought with the Cadac is 22mm, but I'm wondering if it's possible to buy an adapter that allows you to couple it up to the 27mm valve on the leisure gas bottle in a similar way that you'd a reducer on pipework 🤔

Can you not remove the 22mm clip on valve and fit a 27MM clip on?
Here is an example where the interface hose to clip-on is a LH threaded one that is typically used.

Whilst not unknow 22mm clip-on is way less commonly used than 21mm or 20 mm clip-ons. Though these very frequently use the LH thread as the interface.

If you have Propane it will be threaded. If you want to use a clip on you will need to change Bottle to Patio gas or Butane.

I use quick release connectors on my Cadac. So with a couple of connectors where each one is attached to a length of hose with a regulator, connector suited for a specific gas cylinder. So I can easily connect to a Campinggaz, or patio gas cylinder using one or other of the connectors. You could do similar with a 27 mm cylinder too.

Being Propane does not in itself dictate it "will be threaded", for example if he has Flo-gas (exBP] Gaslights it will be Propane and will be a 27mm clip-on.

This is why I stated Patio gas, as alternative Bottle.but standard Calor Propane are threaded

That’s the same arrangement I use it works fine. Glad you have it sorted.

Flogas lite is propane and not threaded, it's a 27mm clip on 🫣

Just a word of general advice concerning gas fittings. There has been a mass inflicted of gas fittings which do not comply fully with the British and International standards..I strongly suggest you only by from reputable dealers

Flo-gas's light, Gaslight is not Patiogas,

"Patio Gas" is a Calor brand product line, though it is another that also uses a 27mm clip-on. connection and is propane.

Let’s not argue over names whatever brand,they are Propane clip on Bottles.
