gas regulator

sat on site on only our second trip and having gas issues... when i turn the tap on the top of the gas bottle the gas comes out of a yellow plastic button on the regulator attached to the wall of the van.

i have turned the yellow tap after this regulator going into the van but it makes no odds, what am i doing wrong???

The smal plastic button is a safety valve.

If gas is coming out of that, TURN OFF THE GAS IMMEDIATELY and get an engineer to yourselves to change the regulator.

The yellow tap is NOT an on /off tap for normal use, it is for test puropses only and should NOT be used for anything else.

DO NOT TRY TO USE GAS FOR ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE A NEW REGULATOR

thanks damien its been off the whole time i dont like to play where gas is concerned. only had the van two months so should be covered by warrenty

Phoned the Dealer to book her in but can only do weekdays and not for a couple of weeks, first weekend slot is well into May, which is annoying to say the least.

I had a look this evening and checked the yellow tap was firmly down and wallah, it worked no problems. Worried this was a fluke i tried it again ten minutes later and it came out of the yellow overflow valve on the regulator again.

So is it the regulator attached to the van at fault here or the attachment on the gas bottle?

Regarding the wait for a weekend slot - why don't you arrange with the dealer to take the van in, say on a Saturday pm and he can do the job during the following week and you can pick it up at the next weekend.

We both work and this is what we tend to do and it helps the dealer too as he can fit a small job in between others.
