Gas repair woes

I've got a real dilema and hoping that someone can help me.

At the end of last year we replaced the old faulty hob with a new one and removed the oven as we never used it. All the pipework is still there, we just need one pipe connecting to the hob and the other blanking off as we no longer need it.

Problem is trying to find someone prepared to do the work. The place we usually go to has been fully booked since before Christmas - that is unless I want a full service which they have plenty of time for.

All the other places I know of give the same story. Clearly this small piece of work is not worth much to them so they are not interested. I've even said I will have them check the tyres/brakes too but unless I opt for a full service they are not interested.

Can anyone offer me any suggestions on where to turn next? I live near to Chester so the Merseyside/Cheshire area is closest.

Thanks

Sarah
