Gay Pride - Nottingham

Went to a Pride event today, it was brilliant, some great people there.

I've deleted this one Lisa because the image is not appropriate to be shown on a forum where children could see it.

You know that children are not encouraged to eat burgers nowadays!

Yes I do, thank you for your concern. In fact, I was inundated with requests to take pics of a lot of the participants at the event.

No probs, it's on other forums anyway.

That is why they are exhibitionists Lisa and do genuine "gay" people no favours. The people I mean by genuine are those who want to live their lives quietly with their partners and feel embarrassed by the said exhibitionists. I know gays and lesbians who distance themselves from these events and I would think they are in the majority although I haven't done a census or poll :O)

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I hadn't been to the Pride event before and apparently, there was a record number of people who attended this year's event. There were same sex couples, 'straight' people with families, stalls, police, fire service, all different types of agencies.

From what I saw, most of the audience genuinely enjoyed the acts. There were all kinds of bands too. It was a great day out.

I can't really comment on the gay community and whether they are embarrassed by drag queens etc as I'm not part of it.

Then to end the day, not long after I got in, a house just nearby caught fire.

Hey Dave

After reading your post, I have to say, that's the best laugh I've had in ages, that's the sort of thing my mum would say. LOL!!!

Hi Selwyn

Thanks for posting part of the sermon, I must go away and memorise it. Just hope I don't incur the wrath of god for being at the event. (Starting to get worried now)....

Kind regards

Lisa

Hardly a 'sermon', nor opinion, nor conjecture - just quotes from the Bible that has underpinned national life in this country since time immemorial.

The strictures and constraints imposed by Christianity have been feverishly dismantled in last 30 years by those who found them irksome and inhibiting to their desire to indulge in excess.

Now we see the results of their efforts.

Some people might applaud the result, and agree with the late 'Woy' Jenkins that we have created a 'civilised society'

Others might be more minded to observe that we are now living in a foul smelling urinal.

It's all a matter of how one sees these things. I'm in the urinal camp myself.

Sorry - I googled Romans 1 v27 and it came up as an online sermon 'The Condemnation of Homosexuality in Romans 1:26-27'.

Lisa

No problem - I'm sure the sermon was edifying.

On a brighter note, at least the Mods can't claim that this thread has nothing to do with camping 😉

I'm with the golfer Peter Allis on this one when he said each to their own but he'll be glad that he's dead and gone before they make it compulsory
