General costs of electricity per day

Hi
It’s becoming more common to see sites that aren’t inclusive of electricity. I am not technically minded at all so am very scared of booking one for fear of the costs being more than the actual holiday!!
I want a basic general figure of the daily cost to have my fridge on and the central heating and a small oil heater all day. Not in watts or electric terms but money…. Many thanks in advance

The Woosie Club recently had a week at Pont Kemy, caravan site, mid last month, the weather was changeable, but we had the caravan heating ( Truma combi water/ heating) set to 18c and down to 12c during the night. We paid £24.80, so just over £3.52 a day, that was TV, water heating on all the time, we shower in the van, fridge and air blown heating.

We have been to a couple of sites that charge separately for electricity. Metering each pitch is a big financial cost for sites. There are no caps on what energy companies can charge businesses. So you will pay more than at home. The site owners can not charge more per unit of electricity than they pay their supplier. Obviously it will depend on the time of year and what you use, but we've normally paid between £2 and £4 a day.

The cost per unit varies very considerably, depending on whether the site is a commercial business or a sideline for a 5-van CL/CS, in round figures from 30p to 60p.

Because of our age/health we have our caravan warmer than most and struggle to stay under 10 units/day, that's £3 to £6 daily in UK summer, more in spring/autumn.

Sites should be able to tell you their present rate per unit when you book - but of course it may change, particularly at the moment.

Same Woosiefest , same time but an older and bigger caravan. £28.50. .7 nights. Approx £4.00 a day and we were warm! Hutch has his whisky warm😜

In our experience it is not as much as you fear. Recent Woosiefest in a 2 berth Sprite. Truma blown air Combi heater. Heating on electric for a 2 or 3 hours every morning. Hot water on once or twice a day for pot washing and shower. TV, fridge, phone charging, microwave etc. £3 a day.
In the depths of winter we have only spent £5-£6 a day; again using electric for everything.
If you choose a site that has a lower per night price, ( Woosie fest was £30 a night on a fully serviced pitch on a well appointed 5 star site) then the total cost per night is still very competitive compared to a similar site where electricity is included. Certainly still vastly cheaper than CAMC!
