Been caravanning for years - or are you a newbie?

What's the best bit of advice you've ever been given??

Been caravanning for 20 yaers,Best advice stick to 85% rule, and never overload the van, Give plenty of space on the road for other to over take you, so they don"t cut you up good luck .trevor

Always ensure there is ice and cold tonic in the fridge for the post-pitching gin and tonic (oh, and it helps to remember to bring the gin).

Never ever forget the corkscrew!! And chill the wine the night before you leave, so it's nice & cold when you arrive.

Use the same gear to go down a hill as you would require to get up it.

once you have hitched the caravan onto the towball wind the jockey wheel down so that you can see the car lifting slightly and do it without anyone talking to you.been caravanning 30 years got distracted once and caravan came off!!!

Fit Tyron wheel bands, they may save more than your van if you have a blow out.

construct a packing list on your computer as detailed as you like. This has saved us having to purchase another set of rainwear at the first shower. It also means that you can stop in a layby on the way for a comfort break and find all essentials close to hand in the washroom!

send the kids for water on arrival...place chair near to outfit...set-up...sit on chair with beer...bliss...

Never ever forget the missus, imaging pulling onto a site and feeling hungry and theres no one to do the grub and get a pint pulled, dreadfull.
