We are no longer the big concern for global warming.

I heard on the news thiis morning that Patio heaters are now a bigger problem than 4x4's for global warming.

So our cars that do between 15 and 25 mpg are a better choice for the environment than a patio heater.:~)

Will

I don't want to start another 4x4 debate (argument)

this story was in the national press a few days ago and is apparently of concern due to the amount of public houses that have installed patio type heaters outside to keep the smokers warm.

Good news for 4x4 owners? If you think this is going to take the heat (!) off 4x4 owners (of which I am indeed one), then i fear you are sadly mistaken...

Do they supply patio heaters on station platforms for the comfort of smokers?

Question:

I have a 4x4 whose CO2 rating is 250grams per kilometer.

I do about 15,000 miles a year (or 24150 kilometers).

My boss has an Avensis whose rating is 146grams per kilometer

The boss does about 40000 miles a year (64400 kilometers).

(both mileages are business and personal).

My calculation is that I put out 6 kilos of CO2 , the boss 9.5 kilos of CO2.

So by my calculations lets ban Reps as its they who are really killing us all!!!

Am I right?

If Patio Heater in pubs and gardens are now a bigger problem than 4x4s, and some how they are supposed to cause global warming? Then i think everyone in the country should have a patio heater and a 4x4 so we could atleast have some sort of summer!! And before you green lot starting banging on about global warming, scientist have found no proof what so ever that this weather we are are having now is caused by my car!

I wondered why it costed me so much to get to work on my patio heater.

I better start going to work in my 4x4 instead.

Sorry Will, I couldn't help myself :)

By the way I have neither a 4x4 or a patio heater.

This topic was discussed on a 12:00noon radio show on Radio Wales today. Apparantly there is pub in England where the landlord is offering battery operated thermal body warmers to the smokers - didn't say if they were chargeable batteries. beats patio heaters and 4x4s. hehehehe

Will my reply was meant in a light hearted vain and was intended as a joke type reply. I also own a 4x4 - Fourtrack (1998) which does approx 36mpg.

if patio heaters are causing so much greenhouse gases in only three weeks then we are all in trouble, what what.

they will just have to let us smokers back inside won't they?

Hello LB and good morning, smoking is banned on every platform in the country regardless of whether it is covered or not so no patio heaters here, lol.

But then a lot of passengers keep warm running around the station to avoid the ticket inspectors.

Will I apologise - I thought it was a typing error on the way you spelt Colin. Didn't realise that Colinn had made a previous posting.
