Got myself a cadac but............

New cadac carri chef arrived today and on first impression looks good.

One query though, the reversible grill seems secure but when turned over to use the griddle it moves around quite considerably, is this normal ?

No in a word. Some Cadacs were supplied with a heat guard and a label on the griddle to use the heat guard with it. This is not true and the heat guard is only used with the BBQ. If you don't fit the guard the griddle should fit snugly. You might also find the centre post is difficult to remove when it cools down. I gently knock the kettle with a wood block whilst holding the pole. Stand clear and it comes off. It's a great buy and does stuff brilliantly.

I took delivery of mine last week It's brill. Have you got the fat pan(item B in the instructions) on under the grill plate.I understand that this goes on first so any excess fat can collect in it round the edge . with this in place the griddle on mine sits firmly either way up.

Happy cooking,

paul.

Hi Chris and Paul,

Thanks for your replies.

The way I put it together was with the fat pan in first, then the diffuser over the burner and lastly the griddle.

The griddle is a really poor fit unless im doing something wrong, it moves around quite a bit which I can tell is going to be a real pain when cooking.

The three legs which stick out of the side which I think are the parts it should sit on are only just on the lip of the fat pan and so allowing it to move and rotate easily
