HI thanks for the photos , however they are slightly out of focus (the camera has focused on the orange wires, not the terminals) also can you take photos of the underside of the board( track side) as the this will confirm your assumptions about the connections (and also allows me to add to my files on charger/PSU's) , which reading through your analysis appears correct. I have attached a schematic of the existing charger wiring and for a new battery charger module.Unfortunately this forum does not allow pdf files to be uploaded so I have had to convert the file to a jpg which has lost some of the resolution.
There is another forum called caravantalk.co.uk/forum which does allow pdfs so if you join that forum I will post the pdf on it if you are struggling to see it clearly
Thanks again Ian, The only way to get at the back of the underside of the board is to disassemble the charger and am a bit reluctant to do this at this stage but no probs, your image is fine. I will roll my sleeves up and hopefully get this saga sorted out.
The wire numbers on your schematic appear to correspond to those on my block diagram or is that just a coincidence?
BTW had previously joined CaravanTalk during my earlier searching around.
Regards
Mike

I generated my schematics from your description so no it wasn't a coincidence , also I have photos of similar ( but older chargers) so the 12V terminals layout is pretty similar

Hi Ian, you may well have seen my recent post but I thought I would reach out to you as you were knowledgeable re the NE2006 when I was upgrading the battery charger. I recently added a water tank sensor and gauge which is working fine, along with the upgraded battery charger I may add :) , however I appear to have caused an issue with the AC50 Controller and fridge which may be associated with NE2006.

I will not repeat the current sage info however would appreciate your feedback re the 12v supply to the fridge and AC50 from the NE2006, My next step will be to take the NE out of its' cabinet and try to work out which wires supply the AC50 and fridge. As discussed last time, I have not been able to find much documentation for the NE and my locql auto electricians are reluctant to look at it.

Thanks again and I hope you are managing the weather that I see is battering the UK at the moment.

Cheers

Mike

Hi Jaffa this is getting to be like modern day pen pals ! The weather in the north west of England hasn't been as bad as down south . Our national news tends to be southern centric and the flooding is the result of 50+ years of not dredging rivers and waterways and building too many homes in the wrong places, Even I know you don't build a house on a flood plain unless its on stilts. But to matters more relevant, at the fridge there will be a four way block connector which supplies the fridge 12V control supply and the heavier wires , the 12V heater element. Note the colours of the thinner wires, white or white/brown is mainly used as 0V. the colour of the other wire could be orange or green Tracing the wire back to the norelectronnica unit may give yield some insight as to why the fridge isn't working , Generally the 12V supply to the fridge controls is shared with the permanent supply to the radio ( which also has a separate 'ignition on' supply which allows the radio to turn on, The permanent supply is there to prevent the radios to not lose their coding and to allow a motorised aerial to retract when the radio is turned off or the the ignition on supply is lost). Have you got a picture of the AC50 Ive not come across that unit

We are just about through our winter here and starting to plan ahead for the coming caravanning season. We have a 2008 Swift Challenger 510 which I tow with a VW Touareg and am very pleased with both. I am in the process to upgrading the current battery system to LifeP04 Lithium which I have been thinking about for a while but never quite wanted to deal with converting the rest of the caravan electronics to make it all work. So far so good however I would like to replace the lead acid charger in the NE2006 CWS controller with a Lithium charger but have not been able to find good info on how to do this, hence me joining your group. I would greatly appreciate any pointers or links to discussions that might assist. Thanks for having me, regards Mike

The AC50 unit picks up its power from the Nord electronica unit , usually from a green /brown wire to the master switch , but it does not isolate the fridge control as this has to work when being towed by a car. I would be looking for a loose connection in one of the multi plugs in the Nordelettronica unit

this is mounted (in a cover) on the back of the fridge, The right hand sheathed cable is labelled 12v but only has 2 heavish wires. Am I looking in the right place?
