Bb, I sincerely hope you don’t mind me interjecting, but there are far, far nicer places in Devon than Paignton to stay or visit. Just saying as a local. 👍Not been that far would love to see Paignton maybe this year or next 🙏
Last year we spent time at Rame Head CL near Cawsand/ Kingsand. The hidden part of Devon and Cornwall with a pub divided by the county boundary. Also, don’t ignore Somerset. Exmoor, the Quantocks and pretty villages on the levels. 👍
Moors are not my favourite as, though my head loves them, my body fails to understand and does not cope. But the other costal places you mentioned we have visited and enjoyed. Remember Burgh island well. We would visit that end when staying at Plymouth Sound.Keep going west John, Bantham, Hope Cove, Burgh Island, Noss Mayo, Bigbury, Mothecombe.
Go east for the Jurassic coast, some stunning coastline and pretty villages into the lovely Dorset.
Of course inland you have Dartmoor National Park, where I live, and love. Boy do, I live! Just off now for a 10 miler to Sittaford Tor.

Go a bit further north and you have the amazing, stunning Exmoor National Park, which we share with our dear neighbours in Somerset. Plus the amazing north Devon coastline.
