grp sidewalls

Jon, we have GRP sidewalls and can only find positive things about them.

They do not transmit the cold as readily as Aluminium, they do not dent at the slightest knock, if you are unfortunate enough to damage it, it is easily repairable without having to replace a whole panel.

Only guessing, if it was involved in an accident on the road, and turned over, then it would probably end up as a mass of fibres, but even that is preferable to sharp jagged metal flying about.

..... the disadvantage is the weight hence Swift have now gone back to aluminium. The advantages are as Damian says which I feel outweigh the disadvantages.

Having had a Freestyle and now an Abbey Vogue GTS 416 both with GRP sides I still maintain that their demise was a retrograde step made principally on the basis of change for change sake.I have found them excellent and apart from the benefits already mentioned by others they also seem to stay cleaner and do not appear to have the same problem with black streaks.
