Habitation 12 volt electrics not working

I note another member has intermittent problems, I have nothing at all. No 12 volt lights, fridge, water pump, water tank capacity, battery condition etc. It's a CI Carioca 2005 644. Have checked fuses on the electrics control unit, unplugged and reconnected all connections on the circuit board similarly for the control panel mounted over the habitation door. The multimeter shows 12.7 volts coming from the engine and leisure batteries; not tried it with the engine running. Tried running from mains but same problem though the leisure battery was being charged 13.7 volts and the 240 volt sockets are live. Is it the circuit board and components? Can these be repaired as a new one costs £300 I am told by the CI agent and may take 6 weeks to travel from Italy!

I would suspect either a main fuse supplying the habitation electrics from the leisure battery, or the isolation relay (if it has one) that turns the habitation electrics off when the engine is running.

Have checked all the fuses I can find. I have also checked that power is supplied to the circuit board from both the leisure and engine batteries. No problems there.
I am not aware of any isolation relay on this van.
Thanks

I'm not sure how the Ci system works, do you have a control unit that's separate from the control panel? You have power to the circuit board in the control unit but no power at the separate control panel? It could be a fault in the control unit or the panel, is the system made by Arsilicii, I think they supplied these for Ci. If so, there is some documentation here: www.arsilicii.com/eng/tuttidocumenti.asp?doc=autocaravan and they seem to offer support here: www.arsilicii.com/eng/Supporto.asp
Sometimes these electronic panels jut need resetting by unplugging them for 30 seconds. Failing that you'll need to get someone who is familiar with the Ci setup to take a look at it and advise whether it can be fixed or not.
Andy (wondering why motorhomes are so complicated these days...)

Hi. I have 2005 Rapido 786 on Ducato 2.8, Couple of weeks ago the control panel was flashing, bleeping alarm and causing lights to flash on and off too. I could hear 'click' in the fuse box every time the lights and control unit flashed on and off. All warning symbols on the control unit were illuminated so unable to read levels of water, battery etc. The 240v seems uneffected and we managed to finish our weekend away, albeit in the snow and with icicles from our noses as no heating. I popped it to local dealer and great young chap took a look, leisure reading was 13.3v but there was no increase when I started the van to indicate charging. He said best to get the van in for a checkover to see what it is.
Does anyone have any idea what I am in for? I rang another local dealer I have used who suggested replacing couple of parts (control panel and another piece) which could take 4 weeks to arrive AND cost over £1000. This is an astonishing figure. Please can anyone suggest what we might check out first. We are very amateur on the fixing and mending front, but I love my van and would love to find a potential cheaper remedy. Thanks for your help. Daphnevan.

Rapido.
It could be as simple as a fuse or perhaps a bad leisure battery connection. The display symptoms you describe are consistent with the "boot up" sequence of the electrical control system. Suggest you first check all the low voltage fuses associated with the leisure equipment, there could well be a couple situated in the engine compartment near the starter battery added by Rapido and it is very possible that one of these is the culprit. Don,t just look at them, check them for continuity with a meter after remoiving them individually. Check both leisure battery terminals for cleanliness and soundness. There could also be a fuse in the positive feed to the leisure battery. Disconnect the leisure battery negative terminal for acouple of minutes then re-connect. This should enable the electrical system to cleanly re-boot.
If you have not sussed it by then then you need a hands on sparky.
Take care

Thank you so much for your reply. We will check everything you suggested with fingers crossed. I cant get the van to a sparky till after xmas anyway, so nothing ventured nothing gained. will be a couple of weeks before I can get to the van as she is keeping warm in a barn, but thanks for the tips and have a nice Christmas . Regards Daphne .

To the original poster: Sorry to be negative but from experience I'd say its an odds on favourite that the control panel is kaput! I've just replaced one for a customer and it took five weeks to arrive.

Hello all, I know this is an old post but still crops up in the searches so still relevant. You don't have to wait 6 weeks for the unit to arrive from Italy, as stated above. Atlantic Motorhome are the biggest independent REPAIRER and seller of Motorhome Electronics and stock both remanufactured and new items for Ci and ALL Motorhomes at half Dealer rates. In stock are Control Screens, Fuse Boards, Charger units, etc. Those we don't have can be obtained from Arsilicii and Nordelettronica (we are agents for both) within 7 days. We can often repair the existing units at a fraction of the cost of New. We specialise in fixing Motorhome Electronic issues that are sometimes down to wiring, not faulty units.
We have the ability to repair Control Panels, Chargers and Fuse Boards. We are one of the few UK Motorhome Electronics repairers that also knows Motorhomes. We even ship items to stranded Motorhome owners abroad to help them continue their holiday.
Sorry long winded post, but we have a free email service where you can ask for advice/help, see : http://www.atlanticmotorhomeservices.co.uk/contact-us.php
Available is advice from someone who understands how the Electronics inside the Fuseboard actually works in your Motorhome. Not just understands the basics of Electrics. Please note this advice is available via email only, as you can appreciate it takes up a lot of our time .

"Lowry scores 35, DeRozan has 28, Raptors beat Heat 116-89
TORONTO (AP) — Kyle Lowry scored 35 points, DeMar DeRozan had 28 and the Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 116-89 on Sunday in Game 7 to reach the conference finals for the first time in franchise history.

Bismack Biyombo added 17 points and 16 rebounds for the Raptors. They'll open the Eastern Conference Finals in Cleveland against LeBron James and the Cavaliers on Tuesday night. Toronto fans chanted 'We Want Cleveland!' in the seconds.

DeMarre Carroll scored 14 points, and Patrick Patterson had 11 to help the Raptors become the 15th team in NBA history to win two Game 7s in one postseason. Toronto beat Indiana in the first round.

Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic each scored 16 points for the Heat. They were denied the opportunity to renew acquaintances with former teammate James in the conference finals
But after Toronto dominated the Heat in the second half and rode the superior play of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan to a 116-89 romp, the Raptors won the series 4-3 and advanced to its first East Finals. For once, they did not underachieve. They played like a team that had won 56 games in the regular-season. They’ve been in existence since 1995-96 and had been out of the first round just once before this spring. Before Sunday’s rout of the Heat, they had been mostly known through the years for losing big playoff games, often at home.

So Canada loves it, but basketball fans won’t be able to see the Heat try to exact some revenge against James for leaving Miami two years ago as a free agent. Even James admitted during the second-round series against Atlanta that he wanted to play Wade, his old teammate, for the right to get to the Finals."
