Heating ducting insulation

Hi

Just taken delivery of our new van, a Pageant 7 Bretagne and spent most of the weekend playing with it in the back garden (finally - my own little hideaway!)

Had the blown air heating on - works great apart from the fact that the vent in the rear bedroom blows almost cold. Checked under the van and sure enough this duct runs externally. It looks much the same as the internal ducting apart from being black instead of cardboard colour - does anyone know if it is insulated, or if not can anyone recommend a suitable insulator for it?

Cheers

Martin

If its black its probaly twin skin

There is a lever on the back of the fire that alters air flow forward/rear

I have fitted an extra vent by the door on our Ace Awaed Nightstar and the hot air travels almost the length and width of the van including some under the floor in the black trunking

Its still warm on electric and hot when on gas

Hi Graeme,Insulated everything ,inside the lockers to the front and under the bed to towel rail in loo,the run underneath is surprisingly long to clear bits and pieces.I used 5 rolls iirc ,where it joined i used foil tape from Aldi.HTH

Hope it helps,it made a big difference to ours went away two weeks ago and it was toasty inside when there was a heavy frost outside. It just amazes me that we paid over 14k and had to do this so we didnt have to wear our coats inside on a cold night.Good luck
