hello everybody

Hi all just signed up for the forum, second year towing after years of camping, Just back yesterday from our first run of the year. went to a lovely site in Crail Fife (Scotland). Only 86 Miles from home and did in a comfortable 2 1/2 hours from the Scottish borders. Nice mid week break with no dramas. Currently pulling an Abby Spectrum 419 with a Range Rover 2.5 Tdi not a new van but fully loaded top of the range in it's day (didn't want to commit to newer van until we had tried caravans out for a couple of seasons to see if it suits but looks like we will be upgrading to a newer unit next year.
cheers all
Happy towing

Hi Andy and welcome.
We did a very similar thing - bought an old van to see if we liked caravanning. We did - and swopped to a brand new van after about eighteen months. We kept that until our boys were grown up and twelve years ago treated ourselves to a fixed bed - which we still love, after all those years!
Enjoy your caravanning.

Hi Andy welcome to the practical caravan forum when we started years ago we brought older van and now we have a 2008 caravan and this is our fourth season in this van .
Look forward to your future posts , any questions they are a great bunch on here...........

Hello Andy, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
The 'Speccy' was a top of the range caravan, and it looks like you did the 'trying out an older caravan to see if we like it' ritual in style

I hope that you enjoy using the forum

Welcome to the PC Forum Andy. It's amazing how many caravanners were once tenters - a good step up, especially when we get older and want a bit more comfort.

You've certainly got the perfect tow vehicle too!
Lucky you, being in such easy striking distance of wonderful Scotland.
Happy and safe caravanning!
