Hello Folks,

My wife and I are fairly new to caravanning We have a 2008 Elddis Odyssey 544 and tow with a Chevrolet Captiva 2.0LTXI. We have been away three times in the last year with our boxer dog and are really enjoying it. We have had a few laughs!!! setting up the awning but all part of the learning process. Excellent site for beginners and experienced alike.

I am thinking of replacing my X-Trail just after Xmas and have been looking at the Captiva LTZ, what is it like as a tow car?

Hi Jim,

Our Captiva is now 1 1/2 years old and the second time we went out with the the caravan the clutch failed. We eventually got Chevrolet to replace it under warranty but I honestly feel it was a one of problem.We have been out since towing the caravan and no problems at all. The Diesel engine pulls our caravan no problem, the fuel consumption seems ok and value for money I think it is an excellent motor.It's that good the wife puts more miles on the Captiva than her own car
