Hello to everyone!

Hi, just to introduce ourselves, my wife and I have always spoken about getting a caravan and now we have decided to do something about it!
We are in our 70's so have bought ourselves a 2026 model Bailey Phoenix 420 Black Edition. We weren't initially planning on buying new, but whilst looking around in our local dealership we were presented with an offer we couldn't refuse and to top it all they through in a motor mover and very generous starter pack.
As it's a compact 2 berth van, we will probably get ourselves an awning of some sort in the not too distant future, but we will see how we get on first.
We have a couple of trips booked up already so we are really looking forward to our adventures.

We have a 2025 Hyundai Tucson to tow with, which so far seems to cope very well with the caravan attached (although not fully loaded) but all the figures suggest that we should be well within the towing capacity. I have generated a caravan loading spreadsheet to keep track of weights etc loaded to both the car and caravan, this sheet also calculates a target noseweight which will help in getting the towing configuration correct.

This forum seems to have a wealth of experience and knowledge on offer so I may be back to make use of it at some time!!

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a very capable outfit which is well matched. Sounds like you have thought things through. Have you previous experience? As many of us Forumites know age is not a barrier to caravanning.
This is a very friendly Forum with some very clever caravanners who will be able to help with any issues you have.

Welcom to the forum, sounds like you have a very nice outfit, the Tucson is a very capable car.
Be careful when you load the caravan, it is so very easy to overload it, I am sure almost everyone on here has been awarded the T shirt.
And if you get bored one day search Nose weight.
