HELP! battery/mains connection door locked

Hi

any body got any idea how to deal with a stuck lock, the small door for the battery and mains cable connector is locked and I cant get it open, it has two small locks , ones ok but the other will not open.I'm currently on a site and connected to the supply. If I cant get it open what do i do. Leave the site tomorrow.

Caravan is a Sterling euro 470 2006

thanks

hi,

if its the arm type you may have to gently prise the door open and try and move with a thin bladed screwdriver,if its the push lock type and then turn a key to open or lock, same again, prise open slightly and force gently the lug downwards.you can get replacement locks.

I guess if the worst comes to the worst and you can't get it open, you either need a mobile tech, or unplug the mains and cut the cable (you can always buy a new mains cable)

My lunar has the same problem. I find that if you dont push the key home all the way - maybe 1/2 an mm short, and then try turning might do it. Alternatively, push the key all the way home, and then apply pressure down or up and then turn, that might do it. Good luck

Push the door in toward the caravan on the side which is stuck and maintain the pressure while turning the key.

When the so and so's who nicked my toilet cassette ruined the lock, we couldn't get the external door open. I pushed a thin bladed screwdriver into the lock where the key would go and pressed in hard and turned. Did the trick; had to replace the lock but then it was ruined already.
