Firstly thanks for taking the time to read.

Please excuse me if a silly question. I'm very new to caravans and learning. I recently bought an alko wheel lock and went to fit it today, after watch some you tube videos I didn't find a plastic screw in the tube I have to screw the bolt to I found a sticker and then under the sticker was a screw already screwed in (see attached). Is this normal, I have phoned the chap I bought the van from and he claims he has no idea. Any thoughts on what type of socket I need to remove this please?

Contact Alko UK. They will help. It’s not uncommon. The security “ plug” was inserted by Alko. The link plus links from it explain the background history of why they did it.

Yep you need the key to remove that lock and I don't think it is an ALKO lock for any wheel lock, but they will confirm.

There’s a picture of the type of key required in one of the links I posted above. It’s different to the normal Alko wheel lock security bolt.

The lock could belong to the Bulldog type wheel lock as the shape for the key does not look like an ALKO version.

Is this the "blocker" that Alko fit in the receiver to stop third-party locks, eg Bulldog, from being used - so there should be a matching key with a genuine Alko lock ?

Yes if you read my above post there's a link to a post by Damian that describes the whys and wherefores of the Alko versus Bulldog actions.

Here’s a picture of the Alko removal tool and the screwed plug that was inserted into the receiver ( reverse order I’m afraid) to prevent Bulldog locks being used. “Legal”? That’s a recipe for a massive diversion. 😂

2nd hand (yes wanted to save a few quid, now learning my mistake, but that's part of the learning curve),

I've contacted alko and sent them a picture so hopefully will get an update soon

I bought second hand Alko lozenge complete with lock from a Swift dealer. I then purchased another Alko lock and sold the second hand one. So I too saved few pounds. When you get it all sorted don't forget to register your lock with Alko as if you should loose keys their key maker (Lowe and fletcher) will not provide replacements. Hopefully the previous owner of your lock has de-registerd it if in fact they registered it in the first place.

Thanks for the heads up
