Would make sense otherwise your having to change it all the time. Its all new to me is this. I think we will use it one more weekend maybe two then it won’t be used till next summer so just need to make sure its right as im from Halifax and we have bad winters were i am, im in the moors

Used whilst Winter caravanning winter months , used for years never a problem as plastic parts and 2 teaspoons is enough. End of each trip drain and flush out.

There are metal parts in mine. Hopefully stainless steel but that comes on various grades.

Also drained our flush tank today our van is now winterised and the taps /shower left up and all the cupboards wardrobe and fridge doors left open .

2 teaspoons in a full tank. This is only put in whilst we are actually using the caravan during cold winter months. When home I drain it right down. Then when using again in frost add some again. The pump shaft is stainless steel. If you are not using the caravan during frosty weather just drain it down completely. We are still caravanning for 2 months.
If your cistern is like mine then it will hold about 8l of water or 8000gms. Your two teaspoons of salt will be about 10gms, so a ratio of 1 to 800.
I doubt very much that amount of salt will have any affect on the freezing point of water.

Sea water is 3.5% salt concentration or 35gms per kg/ltr, and the freezing point of sea water is just above minus 2 deg C.

.......we caravan all year round and and put screenwash in the flush tank if needed in winter.
