I have a cabby nova 1977 in sweden and i must fix the heater cut off switch.

this heater has both gas and electric heaters and a pump. My problem is with the ekectric heater. On the electric heater there is a over-heat cut off unit. It has 2 terminal plugs . and I'm not sure how to wire these up. I've been told that one goes to the themostat and the other to the trip switch (mains power box) can anybody help please.

Put a meter across the terminals and heat it up (fan heater?), as the temperature rises the reistance level should go from 0 to infinity. It probably operates on a bi-metallic strip which bends with heat and breaks the contact.

If it is this type it needs to be in series with the heater element and thermosat as you describe - daisy chaining across the supply.

I would put it on the supply live side but that is a personal preference and I believe does not really apply with continental supplies anyway.

If there is a relay involved you will need to get the circuitry worked out.
