Thoughts with Highbridge caravans and all the staff following last nights' fire. Gladly no one was hurt and the fire service seem to have done a fantastic job saving as many vans as they could.

How refreshing to read the positive message by the owner, business as usual and the show goes on, brilliant :p :p

So glad they are still able to trade. We have always popped in when caravaning in their area. So sorry for any customers if their vans were involved in the fire.

Let's hope their Insurers pay up on the material damage and business interruption claims.
This is a good dealer who deserves a great final outcome from their claim.

I was there on Thursday looking at the new Coachman range.
From the video clip I think the fire may have been behind the workshp area - the building with the floodlights on the end - and this building would have partly sceen the main display area of new caravans. Few if any of these would have had gas bottles installed.
So most of the damage is probably to customers caravans and perhaps stored vehicles. Which means that not only will Highbridge have had a disaster but than others may have had holiday plans wrecked etc. Plus the possible debates as to values and which insurer will eventually pay up.
Altogether an unhappy episode saved from being even worse by absence if injuries.

yes so sad.
I drove all the way up to Highbridge caravan from Exeter and got there at 9:30 to find fire engines come in and out.
parked in the car park to the right and was told that all was open apart from the caravan part which was the reason for my visit. I was going to buy a caravan but the one that I was looking at is sadly no more.
Hope they get it all sorted out and it was very good news that no one was injured.

Very sad loss but now you know why sites have a 6m gap. At a dealers they will; be very close and the fire will spread very quickly.

We've been for a look round Highbridge Caravans earlier today and they seemed very busy.
There were several sold caravans being towed to their collection area, a good supply of customers and work to clear the site of the recent fire is almost complete.
We had a look around a few caravans but were not tempted to deploy the Plastic Fantastic, and opted to buy some toilet cassette tank freshener and a Floe drain down kit.
We're in the happy position of having now paid for our towcar and caravan, they both do exactly what we want them to do and we enjoy spending the spare money that would be used to buy a shiny new caravan on using our still reasonably shiny 8 year old caravan as often as we like to go somewhere nice. :cheer:
