Hitch lock for an AKS3400

Hi boys and girls
I am going to get a Hitchlock for our caravan and we would like some feedback on the different makes.
We are leaning towards the alko one

The good part of using a proper alko one is how easy it is to fit, but they can be costly.
Sold secure or diamond standard insurance approved are also available cheaper in many cases.

I would avoid the hitchlock and get a wheel clamp. Thieves can fabricate a bracket that fits over the end of the A frame and tow the caravan away with the hitchlock on. A good wheel clamp is far more secure although nothing is completely thief proof. Whatever you buy go for Sold Secure Gold though.

Hi thanks for the replies,
I have decided to go for the belt and braces option of an al-ko hitch lock with an al-ko wheel/ axle lock a wheel clamp and two corner steady locks.
Hopefully this will deter any would be thiefs

Not sure I would go that far but if anybody tries to take caravan with that lot on they must be mad or desparate.

I've always used a hitch lock, an alarm and my current caravan has an Alko Wheel Lock, all of which give discount on the insurance - as I still have a heavy duty wheel clamp from my previous caravan I also use that on the opposite side to the Alko at home, but it's too heavy to take touring.

Just bought a Purpleline 'Saracen' hitch lock and a Purpleline 'samurai' wheel clamp to replace the unknown branded stuff that came with the van... 🙂
