hitch problems due to attempted theft

hi all recentley bought our first caravan and someone has alreadey tried to steal it.

the problem i have is they tried to jemmy off the hitch lock and failed there is some minor damage to the plastic casing of the hitch winterhoff but it looks a bit crooked and will only rotate to the left and not to the right

is this normal. please help as we wanted to go away for the first time next weekend. thanks

Neil, sorry that you have had problems, i won't get onto what i'd like to do to these low lifes!!. The only thing you can do is check to see if it still sits on your car ok and if in doubt i would call a mobile caravan fitter out rather than tow it to a dealer. If you can afford it and wanted to change the hitch head it's a fairly simple job and you can get these through dealers or on the internet and they usually pop up on ebay too. Good luck anyway.

Neil, forgot to say, bet you glad the hitch lock did its job!! you could always try to claim on your insurance for replacement parts.
