Been van life for about 15 plus years, van then caravan for 9 (camp site overseeers) motor home, and now back to caravan.
Love it, well apart from Mr Waffty ie Bert making me start now n then. I, being polite, dislike the wind to a very high degree. He shall pass

Oh yes, it is cheaper to get a Red Funnel "all in" deal with one of the sites.

Sometimes cheaper to book Red Funnel direct rather than using a deal with a campsite - so check out both prices before committing.

It's 10 years since we visited, having previously been in 1966 (nothing much changed in between!) - I'd already got prices for Red Funnel and was surprised when I booked the site that their discounted ferry offer was more than Red Funnel direct.

One thing that really struck us on our last visit was the state of the roads outside the towns. Not sure if roads have improved since 2015?

2015 or more like 1815...... they used to have a sign up as you came off the ferry
Island roads are different 😂

But in a slight defence I have driven some North Island roads equally as bad.
