Hi, can't help with a web site that features the 635 but as well as fitting on your drive you need to check that it will be legal to tow, unless you have a commercial vehicle. Most Hobby's bigger than the 560 tend to be 2.5m wide.

The body length of the 635 is 23ft. The handbook doesn't give a shipping length but it'll be about 28ft. You will not find details of the 635 on any website because it's a UK specific model which isn't listed in any brochures.

At the rear is a u-shaped lounge/double bed

In the centre nearside is a side dinette/single bed and washroom.

Opposite is the kitchen/wardrobe.

at the front is a permanent bedroom with transverse bed.

Hope that's of some help.

I hate to call you a liar Lolly, but the only campsite I know of in Britain which has a strict "no Hobby" policy is Flamingoland.

Most other sites will accommodate you if you are a caravan club member and don't tow with a commercial vehicle, ie you are a genuine touring caravanner. Flamingoland don't allow Buccaneers either.

I too would be interested to know which these sites are that do not allow Hobby caravans as we have never had any trouble on any site we have been to.

Is it just a rumour which has been started by someone and everyone who hears it believes it to be true? Even when they do not have a Hobby caravan and so have not experienced this themselves.

I am willing to believe it if the people who state this actually listed the sites that have refused Hobby caravans.

There is a site near Chester, at the junction of the A65 & A483, which told me specifically that they would not accept Hobbies or Munsterland - neither of which I have, as it happens.

I don't have a Hobby caravan, but out of interest, why would some sites not allow them? Is it cos of size; if so what are they to big for?

We had a Hobby of similar size to the one you are considering buying. As it was illegal to tow it in the UK without a 3.5 tonne truck we had it delivered 200 miles to a site witha seasonal pitch prepared to take it!

When we wanted to resite it closer to home we had such great difficulty that we sold it on site and bought a UK tourer.

The reason(s) we were given for not having Hobby vans on site(s) were:

1. One site owner was advised not to accept Hobby vans by the police!

2. Another site owner said - as our van sounded very secure (it had a Super Mule fitted against theft) that the thieving community would not be able to take our van and not being prepared to leave 'empty handed' would steal another van closeby!

3. Not site policy to take Hobby vans!

We also had problems getting insurance for it. Not many insurance companies are prepared to 'take the risk' and do not appear to know much about the Super Mule! We eventually managed to get insured by the NUF who were very helpful and also knew about the safety device (as apparently it is regularly used on farm equipment/horse boxes).

Sorry to be a damp squib but I would suggest you check everything out before going ahead.

Don't accept being told by the seller: "Oh you will be OK. There will be no problem!". It will be too late by then to get your hard earned money back.
