Home insurance on the rise again

There's anecdotal evidence that if a younger person (40-59) is added to an older (over 70) driver's policy then the premium comes down - and comes down more if the younger person is female.

Trying all the genuine possibilities on a comparison site is the only accurate way to find out.
It is more than anecdotal. I have found it to become a fact over many years now. My current insurance is, that first, my son has reduced my premium,( not sure by how much as I have had no need to make alterations for him). But, adding my daughter as the second named driver has reduced my premium from £566 down to £502. Reducing my estimated mileage from 10,000 to 5,000 reduced it by a further £115.

So, a saving of about £200 just by using the company's rules to my advantage and without affecting the quality of my policy at all.

Not to be sniffed at.

John
