We have a CR-V 2.2 ctdi and bought our first caravan last year so have never towed with any other vehicle. we tow a Sterling Europa 460 MTPLM 1300kgs (with motor mover and everything else it is just on the limit if not slightly over!). So far towed about 2000 miles with no problems and there is plenty of power to spare averaged 27mpg towing (solo 39-41) Ours has sat nav and reversing camera which makes hitching up very easy when there is no one to help.Honda service is good but as others say the interior plastics are poor and easily mark. To me the clutch is easy but its very hard to quantify - I would like an auto, not available on Honda diesel CR-V, so as the next van we aspire to is heavier we will look at the Freelander or similar next time.

joby, just been on honda for you. The crv 2.2 ctdi manual es kerb weight is 1660kg, im not technical but it say this, max load weight 2160kg, max towing with brakes 2000kg, nose weight 100kg. when i first looked my figures were different but honda must be right so maybe you could get one after all. go on treat yourself.

if you was considering a santa fe then dont there not making any at the moment theres a production line fault and it could be months.

my family member have signed for the es model.

there is more postings on this joby if you go onto forum search and put in honda crv.

thanks

jo
