A neighbour has the above car, and wants to buy my old Royale, which grosses at 1300kgs. Is this a good match? The whattowcar.com site is not working tonight, so over to you folks!

Emmerson, I had a 2002 petrol CRV but that was 2l and now have a 2006 2.2L which is diesel. Is there actually a 2.2 petrol?

In any event the kerbweight is in excess of 1500kg and the manufacturers towing limit is well over 1300kg. I would therefore say it is a good match.

Hi Emmerson, I have a 2.2 litre CRV diesel and pull a swift charisma 535, 1290kg with no problems. I think Ray is correct, the 2.2 only comes in a diesel, the petrols are 2.0 litre

Hi Emmerson,

I have a 2003 petrol CRV. The only thing to be aware of is the pathetic 60kg noseweight on the petrol models compared to the 100kg noseweight on later 2005 -- diesel models.

I tow a Swift Charisma 560, around 12-1300kgs and you certainly know its there,

Gavin.

I had a 2002 petrol auto - the maximimum towing limit was 1200kg and the max noseweight 48kg. The manual cars were 1500kg and 60kg respectively.

This changed for, IIRC, the 2005 model year when all cars had 1500kg and a 100kg ball limit.

If your neighbour's car is a pre-facelift auto then it is not a good match.
