Honda crv 2.2 vs.Kia Sportage 2.0

Hi.Motorhome now sold and going back to a touring caravan.
Ive towed caravans before with a CRV 2.2 (07plate)diesel and was very impressed.
But im also considering the Kia Sportage 2.0 diesel KX3.(Seems you may be able to get slightly newer Kia for your money).
Ive got about 7,500-9,000 to spend, and would appreciate any owners of the Kia to comment please.
I believe the Kias 85% figure maybe slightly lower than the CRV (approx.1420kg if im right)
Also,Ive read that the Kia rear suspension can be a little soft.
All replies greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hello George, I will be ready for frack, but the old 85% towing recommendation is well outdated with modern cars . THIS was for new Caravanners, Hopefully others will support me. Both cars are great , just be aware of your driving licence limits, pre 1977 or after.

Thank you EH.
Do you mean 1997 instead of 1977?
No worries...I have a heavy goods licence

Probably, but make sure the Gov have not removed it from your licence, they do it automatically at age 70. Losse all the old bits.

I tend to sgree with you Dustydog, but ive just been reading somreviews regarding very poor fuel consumption with the Kia.
I must admit, with my CRV,I was returning 42mph around town and approx.48 on a run which I think is quite impressive from a 2.2 diesel.
(What makes you think im veering towards the CRV)
If I remember rightly from our Kia Sorrento....are the wipers and indicators the other way around?
The number of times I use to indicate and the wipers would come on.ha ha.
