Hook Ups

You are theoretically paying for the service of having a hook up, i.e. the rent of a EHU box, not for the electricity.
 
It seems strange that in UK we are charged for electricty by calling it a service pitch etc and not as an add on charge due to regulations

Yet in France its common to have a sliding scale tariff specifically for 6amp.10amp,or 16 amp
