How do I put the awning / side skirt around the wheel arch?

Hi, Ive just bought my first ever van and awning. We have been away in it a couplke of times during the summer, but now that winter is on its way when we sit in the awning we get a draft / wind from the gap at the top of the wheel arch where the side skirt doesnt go.

The awning came with two pieces of plastic channel that accepts the awning bead and also a couple of small pieces of skirt but there is no way of attaching the channel to the van, plus it would completley spoil the looks of a brand new van!!

Am I missing something obvious somewhere, what do you all do?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

yes you need a peice of figure of 8,but most good accessory shops now sell wheel arch covers with suckers on them so that you thread the skirt onto the original skirting with your peice of fig of 8,and then secure it with the suckers.no need for screwing studs into the caravan wall now
