How do you remove horrendous tar stains? and has anyone tried...

Hi all

The front of our van has been splattered with what looks like tar stains. Normally I use Pyramid caravan cleaner, but this is not having much effect. I am aware that Pyramid is cheap, so happy to use anything else that will do the job.

Also has anyone tried www.miracledrywash.com. If so do you think it will solve my problem?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I don't know who manufactures it but Halford's sell a product specificaly to remove tar stains on cars. Follow instructions carefully as caravan paint is thin.

Hi

I've found that Whit Spirit and an abundent supply of soft cloths worked for me but be careful what chemicals you use especially on the front panel as it is ABS ( plastic )

WD40 is the answer to all ills , especially road tar marks. Spray it over the affected area and leave for a minute or so and you will see the tar/bitumen begin to disolve. It is also good for removing scuff marks from plastic trim and a host of other things. We used to live in Gibraltar and used it to polish our cars because the atmosphere was so salt laden and damp. It worked a treat!
