how many wheel clamps ?

hi guys we have decided to part with our 2006 gts vogue 415,the

dicoloured front panal was the deciding factor along with the

wife and i not great fans of the wetroom in the gts.we have now

purchased a swift conqueror 630 sal.question is how many wheel

clamps do people use on a twin axle van.i know you cann`t have

to much security but any advice is welcome.

thanks mark

We have one wheel clamp on one wheel at one side and a chain and lock on one of the other wheels on the other side of the caravan. Also hitch lock on the front.

I would check with your insurance company, as to what is required as they all ask for different things. I would not just do what others do as it may not apply to your our company.

We used two wheel clamps while the van was in storage and one when it was on site. In storage the van had a well known wheel clamp that covered the wheel and would at least provide a few problems for a would be thief. the second clamp that we used when on site/while in the motorway services, was of the same make but much quicker to remove and attach to the caravan. It didn't look much, but was still "Sold secure" accredited.

So, one expensive, heavy and secure clamp for long periods of storage and a lesser one for when the threat wasn't so great.

Mark,

I have'nt got a twin axle van, but on my Bailey Senator Indiana I always use two, the Al-ko Wheel lock on the nearside & a Milenco Wheel clamp on the offside
