52 and her outdoors 45. Started tugging in 1978. Had a break and started again last year. Pageant Vendee, home from home behind the Sorento. Wish I'd kept it up during the 90s.

Cheers

coming up 70 in nov.

have camped and caravanned since the swinging sixties. first under canvas (best beds in tents) had 4 tourers intil 1992 then went static for ten years and when fully retired got the wanderlust and tried hotels for a couple of years (found standards had not been maintained but costs had spiralled) went back to touring and am enjoying being reborn (with a mover to assist where athritis prevents pushing etc.) I have had 10 weeks away this year and now also feel I am getting value for my investment. have a safe and happy vanning life.
Great stuff Shiraz,

Everything you have done applies to me except the mover and I'm only a baby at 67 LOL

My wife and I are both 50 this year and started caravanning when our eldest daughter was just a toddler and is now 17 we started with a 1973 Robin(very very basic) followed by a 1978 piper a 1984 ABI Supreme(leaked like a sieve) a new 1995 Coachman Genius 440/5 a new Coachman Amara 500/5 (1999) and a new 2003 Coachman Amara 520/4 (we like Coachman vans!)we still manage to persuade our daughters to come away in the van with us especially where a mobile phone signal is guaranteed and they can happily text away to the friends they "leave behind " we usually take the van to france each year for a couple of weeks and notice how popular this is becoming especially with younger caravanners. No way do i fit into the pipe and slippers bracket as one of my other hobbies is playing bass guitar in a seventies/eighties covers rock band!
