We started vanning 19 years ago when we were just 33.

Now we're at the tender age of 52 we still love it.

It was interesting to see what we all do for a living, proving that our hobby appeals to people from all walks of life.

So how old are all of you?

just to finish, we used to get some funny looks when 3 eighteen year olds polled up to Pentewan Sands for a fortnight with a Rover (my dad's)and a Lynton Exectutive!!!!!!

We started caravanning as a family 21 years ago, the children were 6 and 4. I have personally been vanning for 41 years.
So when you started you were a "babe-in-arms" and now you're just a "Babe" right?

Well it's been long winded way of finding out that age old question (A S L), but has been more interesting this time. I'm 41 my dearest is 47. Been caravanning for 10 years if you can count a break half way through, for a brief affair with static, as caravanning.

The question was how old is the average caravaner but has changed to how old are you. I'm not saying, but here's a clue, I've still got the original horse!

Im a young 42 and the better half is 40 so the average age of caravanners in our household is 41. Have been caravanning for only 2 years now and love every minute of it. What a polite way of asking the ages of people here, the average age of caravanners my a**e. So now you all have my name, my whereabouts, my place of work, the van and car I use and now my age. Not going to get away with much on here any more with the chance of being spotted at various sites are we, Kanga be on your guard they're out to get you.

Like lots of people now we are on our second marriage and 25 years into the mission.

I started caravanning/camping in the back of an A35 van for a month in Spain in 1962,followed by a Bedford Dormobile Motor Caravan in 1965 and later a tent and Bluebird Europe 3 caravan which was 9ft 3in long (towed it to Istanbul, first tow ever to Berlin!!)

When I met HRH she had been on the point of buying a van when husband no 1 decamped. The next door neighbours had a van for sale and we bought it and we weren't even living together --shock horror!!

We are now 65 and 67 and still love it (and the caravan)

We started vanning last year, I am 35 and my better half is 31. With 2 boys under 6yrs, we decided that the overseas 2 weeker was not our cup of tea, and have always been into camping etc. Had trailer tent for 3 years but switched to a van to have a longer season.

Used it 14 times in first year, and look to use it every other weekend this year after Easter.

Boys love it, so do we. As they can have mini holidays during school term if we leave Fridays at 4ish to a site 30-50 miles away.

Looking to upgrade to Bailey Pageant Bretagne at the end of 2006 if anyone wants to sell!

I'm quite happy to go just down the road as long as its a nice site. Its the change of scenery that makes it :O) We spent 72 days away in the van last year, the furthest away being 554 miles at Dalchalm.

We are the same - one of our favourite CL's is 12 miles down the road, who cares as long as we're away from home - gardening, decorating UGH!!!!

After years spent caravanning with my parents I took it up myself last year. I'm 35 and the wife is 41. We've just adopted a little lad aged 11 months who we will be taking caravanning this year.

Does he qualify as the youngest?

HI Guys.

I am 31 and my wife is 27. We have 2 young uns, 5 and 2.

we love caravanning, got the bug about 18 months ago! Mainly for holidays in france and spain but we have had some lovely trips in the UK for weekends.

For those younger caravanners, why not have a look at www.youngcaravan.co.uk go to the forum and say hello! everyone on there is a caravanner between the age of 22 and 40.
