About that Cortina , we ordered it as the photo in Fords brochure and ours came without the vinyl roof So dealer sent it to private firm to have that added, Then it was ready for pick up and this time the spotlights were not on it . In them days the new Cortina Auto etc was about £1500. I kept it for thee years , great puller . My wife then had it for further thirteen years and only the wings had to be replaced as for rust which
 
Back in the late 1970s I drove to the south of France from Gloucester with a VW Derby 1.3 ( Polo with a boot) with four up and towing a Perle Argos 2 berth. I was young and we all had a ball. We ended up in Frejus.
Wouldnt dream of doing it now.
