Hypermarkets over channel

The simple answer is "almost everywhere". Apart from Dunkerque you will see them on the routes around the ports.

If you are going Dover/Calais .... then as you head north towards the port come off at the first roundabout north of the A26/A16 junction. Turn left, and follow the dual carriageway for about

Many Hypermarkets close at 7 or 8 pm some at 10 pm in Calais area.

The French are not stupid like Brits and and stores close on Sundays and I don't know of any 24/7.

http://www.auchancalais.com/ for details in English. Easy to get to off the Calais motorway. Prices can be a few cents higher on some Calais Prices, just a coincidence that so many Brits go for cheap Prices.

E L'Clerc are our favourite Hypermarkets, Carrefour, Auchan, Some bigger Super U can be good.

Thanks Evans ;-)

"Lclare" is how my French friends say I should say it and I'm also a fan of "Lwoirmurlon", many a good bargain from that fine emporium.

Do you shop there Evans, they even do a reasonable

Le Croc Monsieur ( or however they spell it ) at a reasonable price to.

Use them all the time if available - the general (not de Gaule) was a relation of theirs.

Philip.

If you are not going on a booze trip DO NOT buy Wine in Calis, where else do you think the French get rid of their rubbish. Also consider buying every day wine from a Co-op in 5 or 10 Ltr boxes it is a lot less weight to carry.
