I tow 1500kgs no problem with the Santa Fe 2.2, does about 26/27mpg when towing. Done 6000 miles so far and the car has been really good, solo or towing.

Just come back from our first tow with a SF 2.2. Did about 250 miles each way and some of that was up very steep hills on the edge of Dartmoor. We tow a van with an MPTLW of 1560kg. It was excellent, lots of power and control. Also managed about 32mpg towing. Much better than previous sedona.

I also have the 2.2 "limited" sf and have just returned from france where I achieved 33mpg at steady 50mph on autoroute using cruise control. 28mpg at 60mph. Towing 1640kg. I consider this to be very good mpg, and the car is a pleasure to drive and sit in.

Lee (comment box) ours is a manual. The mpg does seem good, I would qualify this by saying that this calculation was based on one journey which was almost all on free flowing (on this occaision) motorway at a steady 55-60 mph. The other factor is that although the MPTLW of our van is 1560kg, we travel light in comparison to some and would doubt we were actually towing that weight.

hi alex, lee, john and everyone else. we have 2.2 57 plate cdx7 auto. we get approx 20-25 mpg and 30-44 mpg solo driving carefully. we had a 07 sedona 2.9 manual and this is a more comfortable car to drive and sit in. we also recently tried the new kia sorento manual and we got back into the santa fe and said that if we change the car it would be the biggest mistake we would ever make.

we tow a series 6 bailey wyoming 1678kg and even i tow now i wouldnt have towed if it was the sedona because its a manual and thats multi tasking to me and i cant do multi tasking, lol.
