I currently tow with a Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 TD, that copes adequately with our Sterling Vitesse (Europa) 520. I am considering changing the Suzuki for a Hyundai Tucson 2.0 CDX Automatic, that has a heavier kerbweight and towing capacity. Does anyone have any experience towing with the Tucson and comments about its performance in general? I appreciate that it is a newish model.

Hi Dave

We bought the Diesel Auto a few months ago. Superb car - lots for your money - BUT - fuel consumption apalling. Carefully monitored ours over 4000 miles - 25mpg. Brochure says 35 combined, up to 42 urban. In dispute with Hyundai who say that figures published have little to do with reality and 25 is realistic!!Not just our car - have read similar complaints. Read on this forum about 2.0 Santa Fe doing 35/38 - thought it was similar engine. Not tried towing yet but car is very 'zippy' so wouldn't think any problems. Some discounts about but had to travel to get ours - look on internet.
