In this country a verbal agreement is accepted as legally binding - especially for offer and acceptance. However the exception to this is for the sale of property and land. This is why we had a few years ago gazumping and why estate agent's sale boards are "sold subject to contract". Until contracts are exchanged either party can pull out of the deal Also the seller can accept a higher offer if contracts have not been exchanged.

Yes, they live in Tupsley, about 5 minutes from us and my DIL is a hairdresser just down the road from us.
We moved out of the city (been there 22 years) a couple of years ago and are now between Ross & Monmouth, so probably too far out for your offspring. However, if they get desperate......
