I thought I would drop a little line to say that we are new to caravaning and would like to share our experience to all.We recently have had 2 great weekends this year at sites near Edinburgh. One being Mortonhall Caravan/Camping site only a few miles from Edinburgh. With bus stop outside park gate.Lovely Big site very helpfull owners.

The other being Linn Waters caravan/camping site just outside Edinburgh near Airport. This little friendly site is very relaxing .toilets are Beautiful, warm very clean.Jean the owner is Great, very hard working tells you all thats going on in and around edinburgh.you will find both on the U.K Campsite lists.

Hope this will help anyone heading to Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Hi Helen

Thanks for this information. It is always good to hear of sites that are recommended especially in popular areas. We stayed at Edinburgh CC site last year, but it is good to know of others for future reference.

Hi Chrissie

Mortonhall is a great site, bus stop straight into Edinburgh. You could walk it take about 40 min/60 min .Park is large ., lovely little restaurant very buisy better to book.Lovely gardenn centre as you enter the park, nice homebaking and coffees.Stewart and family very nice ,helpful.Worth a visit.Regards Helen

we stayed at Tantallon site in North Berwick which is outside Edinburgh but on the East Scottish Coast. The toilsets weren't that warm or clean and there were lots of kids out playing and screaming and running around past 10pm at night, also lay in bed listening to a couple having a domestic which was interesting! Other than that there is a nice clean kids park, a games room, launderette and tiny shop/reception. But the view is gorgeous and it's a walk downhill to a lovely clean (trawled daily) beach with a quaint little town to shop in.
