Just picked up on this insurance carry on and guess who i insured my van with!! Not only that, we also have our dog insured with them too! Can i cancel my monthly payments without penalty, or do i have to keep the policy going for a year?? Can someone recommend a good insurer for van and dog. I see the cc being mentioned a lot and i am a member, Gavin.

Recommend you cancel the DDM and go with those recommended above or any other reputable company.

A good truly independent broker is worth a look as well - they have access to specialist insurers that do not always deal with the general public direct.

Gavin, having had cause to claim on my van insurance, I can say with certainty that the CC arranged insurance, through Devitts, is really good, very quick and very helpful.

It is not the cheapest in the market, but when it counts, it works, and they do not insist on unattainable security provisions for the van, just sensible, realistic requirements.

Cant help re the dog,sorry

Thanks for your replies, i will be changing my policies before the end of the month. Its just not worth the risk going with the "cheaper option". I've had my own car, and the wifes insured with Direct Line for the past 10 years. I always phone around for a few other quotes, but always stick with DL because both times i've had to use them (not my fault!) the service is second to none. As with many other things, you get what you pay for. Cheers,Gavin.
