While we were away on an extended holiday from Oct-Dec, I stored a lot of caravan gear in my garage, including the wheels, chairs, grounds sheets etc. We had a garage fire! no probs I thought-Im insured!! BUT on reading my CC policy booklet I find that the gear is not covered when away from the van! ALSO my (Halifax) house contents policy states clearly that caravan equipment is not covered! so I have fallen between two stools - so READ YOUR POLICY BOOKLET !(sob)

does any one know where I can get a set of Coachman Amara wheels cheap?

Sorry to hear about your fire. I approached my insurers (Liverpool Victoria) and they stated that whilst the goods are in the caravan they are not covered. However, if they are stored in the garage (or house) they become "unspecified personal effects" and are covered.

Have you actually approached the Halifax or are you just relying on the policy booklet?
